Evening League Rules

EVENING LEAGUE RULES

 

 

9.      COMMENCEMENT

 

Matches will commence at 6.15 p.m. Teams not available to toss by 6.10 p.m. will lose the right to choose. Teams not available to play by 6.30 p.m. will lose the match.

 

10.      DURATION AND RESULT OF THE MATCH

 

a)      Games will be 22 overs per team, with no Bowler having more than 5

Overs.

 

b)      Points will be awarded as follows:

           

Win:                 3 points

 

Defeat:             0 points but eligible for a bonus point as defined below.

 

Tie:                   2 points to each side if the scores are level at the end of                                                 the match.

 

            Incomplete:       1 point to each side.

 

c)      In the event of bad weather, Captains will be allowed to reduce the overs played. Innings may be reduced to a minimum of 14 overs each side but only before the match has commenced. No match may start after 7.00 p.m. When the match is shortened this way, no bowler may bowl more than 4 overs.

11.      PROMOTION AND RELEGATION

 

The League will have three Divisions with the bottom team in Division One being relegated to Division Two and the top team in Division Two being promoted. The bottom team in Division Two shall be replaced by the top team in Division Three. No Club shall have more than one team in each Division.

12.      CONDUCT OF COMPETITIONS

 

a)      The Evening League rules will apply.

 

b)      In case of inclement weather, both teams shall exchange team sheets before the start of play. After the match has started the same team must continue the match where it is left on subsequent nights until it is completed. Rained off matches must be completed within 7 days of the original date. Should either team be involved in an already arranged fixture this will stand and this Competition fixture continued the next night, except on weekends.

 

c)      In the event of a tie, the match will be replayed as soon as possible

 

13.      QUALIFICATION

 

Players must have played in at least 1 League match before the Cup first round to be eligible to play in either Cup Competition.

 

14.      UMPIRES

 

Neutral Umpires will be provided by the League for all semi-final and

final ties at the League’s expense.
